• She Got The Moves is a free, public event honoring women leaders in Street dance and Hip Hop culture from San Diego and across the U.S. The two-day gathering brings together dancers, elders, youth, and community members to celebrate the cultural impact of women through movement, music, and shared history.

    While the event centers women, it is open and welcoming to all genders, all ages, and the general public.

We center women’s leadership, elevate local and national voices, and foster intergenerational connection through movement, music, and lived experience. Rooted in accessibility, cultural preservation, and collective care, the event creates space for recognition, visibility, and fair support—ensuring women’s contributions to Hip Hop are seen, valued, and carried forward.

  • No experience is required. She Got The Moves is designed to be accessible, welcoming, and beginner-friendly. It’s a safe space to show up and move in your own way.

  • Wear comfortable clothes you can move in and sneakers or shoes you feel stable in. The event is hosted in a basketball gym with limited chairs available, so you will likely be sitting on the floor or standing. 

  • Yes. This event is designed to be a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment. We are committed to creating a space where all participants feel physically, emotionally, and socially safe

    The venue is accessible, and we welcome participants with varying needs and abilities.
